These "October Horror Movie Challenge" threads are for the discussion of the films in the 31 FILM SUBSET list.
The plan is for everyone to watch this film on the October day in the thread title, and to start discussing it the morning of the following day.
You may start discussion early if you want, but the preferred plan is for this to be as much of a group exercise as possible, with all of us viewing it "together" and discussing after.
Of course, you are totally encouraged to participate in these threads even if you haven't watched the movie on the designated day.
Even if you haven't watched it in years, or are not participating in the Horror Challenge, please feel free to chime in.
Spoiler tags aren't always used in here, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

Monster Club is relentlessly fun and cartoonish with some unusual gutsy segments. The rubber mask costumes are cheesy and spirited more Halloweenish than scary, which makese them perfect. The glam rock interludes are dated but a fun energetic bookmarks between stories that up the cartoonish feel to things and nice palate cleanser between the dark irony of these stories. It's ballsy to feature an crossbred mismatch of monsters called a Shadmock in a leading segment or ghoul humans, many films lean more heavily on safe tropes (not unlike the vampire segment).
The Scorpion Releasing disc includes a Music & Effects only track and that might be fun to try down the line.
Hey look it's Vincent Price and John Carradine dancing...

I think this was one of the last movies I watched last challenge. Consequently, I didn't remember too much of it. Ha, ha. The thing that I did remember was thinking it was silly. Well, the anchor story certainly was silly, but the others didn't have that same tone.
Not a bad film. Like any anthology, some stories are better than others. The main story is the one that ultimately seems to bring things down. The idea of a monster club is great, but the execution was too low budget for me, like they weren't even trying. Some of the music was kind of fun, though.

I love this flick. The New Wave songs between the stories take me back to my college days.

I enjoyed this much more than I expected! A lot of the Vincent Price movies that were done when he was older can be a bit dull, but this was a hoot!
I loved the monster club and all the various types of monsters. The musical numbers were genuinely fun and a nice change from anything else I've watched this challenge. I enjoyed the framing story the most. But the anthology stories were all pretty decent as well. The one with the whistling shamock (?) was my favorite.
Thanks for putting this on the checklist. I probably wouldn't have watched it overwise.

I could see disliking it if I was in a different mood, but I had a lot of fun watching it. Goofy films not taking themselves too seriously are just what I need sometimes.
