These "October Horror Movie Challenge" threads are for the discussion of the films in the 31 FILM SUBSET list.
The plan is for everyone to watch this film on the October day in the thread title, and to start discussing it the morning of the following day.
You may start discussion early if you want, but the preferred plan is for this to be as much of a group exercise as possible, with all of us viewing it "together" and discussing after.
Of course, you are totally encouraged to participate in these threads even if you haven't watched the movie on the designated day.
Even if you haven't watched it in years, or are not participating in the Horror Challenge, please feel free to chime in.
Spoiler tags aren't always used in here, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

I watched this on Hoopla, they were showing the 92 minute version. This was an excellent pick, as it has a lot of atmosphere, a twist in the plot, and some jump scenes. Watching this was an excellent start to my viewing day.

This film has got alot of rave reviews on IMDB and Letterboxd, but I found it to be a predictable "ring/grudge" like copy cat. Maybe I have watched too many of the Ring and Grudge films. Having said that, it was still a decent one time watch.

I'm a fan of Asian horror, but have never seen this. I'm looking forward to it, thanks to ororama for picking it!

The final twist is great that there's some reason we cannot quite see what we are scared of and the bittersweet neediness of the ghost. I love the concept of spirit photography. Shutter has one of the most elaborate multiple origin story every - car accident, no it was forsaken love, no it was a gang rape coverup, etc. The long haired asian girl trope is over played but the chunky flesh effects here were a nice upgrade and Net felt a bit creepier than most; especially the scene of her flying alongside the car.

Ooooo, this is the foreign version. I've never seen this one. Saw the American one and thought it was ok. Looking forward to this.

Probably would have loved it if I hadn’t already seen so many creepy Japanese ghost girl films. It had some nice twists and effects though, as mentioned above. Glad I saw it, but not purchase worthy.

I'd only seen the American remake before which was ok. I typically don't care for foreign films, I totally enjoy Battle Royale though. This was pretty enjoyable though.

I really liked it. It's been awhile since I watched a "creepy Asian ghost" film, so it didn't feel stale to me. I think it might be my first Thai horror film, so I liked that. The lead actor was very appealing, and I liked the moral ambiguity of his character (yes, it was less ambiguous that he was a sh*t by the end). I also liked that the reveals kept coming. I gave it a 5/5. My fav subset film so far.

This one has stuck with me for the past few days. I’ve seen a lot referenced from better movies, but that ending was really creepy. Neck pain manifested by the presence of a brooding ghost. This is pretty brilliant! Mom can’t stand to have her dead daughter cremated, so just chunk her in the bed, and go about the weeks as usual. Crazy stuff! 6/10

I finally caught up with this one. Others have already said it. This felt very familiar. I was actually very surprised if was Thai because I had always associated it with J Horror.
Pretty much the whole movie I kept wondering if we were really supposed to be sympathizing with the guy. I guess not. He was a scumbag and just scummier the more we learned about him.
The premise of a lot of these films just never appeals to me. I haven't seen Ringu (I've seen remake), but I've seen others like it. The haunted tape, photograph, cell phone, etc. trope never grabs me. And the movies aren't bad. They're well done when I see them, but they don't really connect with me.
