I caught this on its theatrical re-release in 1989 as well. It really works well on a big screen with an audience...or at least it did when I saw it.

This viewing, I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I have in the past. I don't feel that it has quite enough depth to reward multiple viewings. Certain deficiencies in the film (such as the post-synching of dialogue) also become a lot more obvious the more times that you see it. I still think that it's an essential part of every horror fan's knowledge base, but the film's real power lies in the impact of a first-time viewing.

Shake Hands With Danger is on one of the educational archives DVDs. I seem to remember the song won some award, but I'm unable to remember exactly what. Catchy tune though.
