I really enjoyed Bio-Zombies; if the Dawn of the Dead format needs an update this was as good as I'd expect to find. The amoral buddy comedy aspects are really spot on and the kinetic humor goes well despite obvious budget limitations. If anything it took too long getting to the zombie splatter but overall a great film - I'd heard good things but the cheap looking poster/effects kept me away until now.

I watched it subbed and was happy with it. Sure the zombies not really turning up until 30 minutes or so into the movie and the two hapless idiots who are our heroes sure don't start out sympathetic, but like Starman said, 'You are at your very best when things are worst' and that mostly applies here too. The zombie make-up is kind of crude even by HK standards in '98, but the low-budget enthusiasm shines through. You just gotta love that ending.
I watched the alternate ending; it was a little to...typical for the genre. They went with the right ending. |

Subbed or dubbed, this movie did nothing for me. I found the main characters to be annoying and I am really in zombie fatigue right now. If I didn't see another zombie movie, TV show or commercial for the next three years, I would be fine. Also, I am not a big fan of Asian cinema either, so this movie really had little chance with me. The effects were poor, story was weak, humor was lame, etc., etc., etc.
