DVD Talk review of 'The Possessed (1977)'

I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of The Possessed (1977) and...

There was a movie I saw only a few minutes of as a kid, and the scene I saw scared the living hell out of me, and even now, at 45 years old, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up just thinking about it. I never knew the name of the film, I can't remember the year I saw it... All I know is it terrified me. And now that I've read this review, and seen those screenshots, I'm wondering if "The Possessed" is that movie.

Is there a scene in "The Possessed", I guess near the end, where there's a woman standing in shadows who says "good night" to a man, who then leaves... and then the woman steps out of the shadows, but she's scary-crazy looking, and begins laughing? And then later that same woman is walking up a big flight of stairs, going after a woman who's behind a locked door? That's all I remember from the movie from my past, and I'd love to find out what it was and see it again, to see if it's as scary as I remember.

Thanks in advance!

Re: DVD Talk review of 'The Possessed (1977)'

Well...there is a scene where one of the girls tries to get someone out of a dorm room, where the evil spirit has locked the door...

Not sure if that helps, Don. Isn't that awful when you're trying to remember something like that from your childhood, and all you have is just a little snapshot in your mind, and nothing else???
