DVD Talk review of 'The Yellow Rose: The Complete Series'

I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of The Yellow Rose: The Complete Series at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=52037 and...As I recall, Anspach was under the impression (correctly or not)that she would be one of the "stars" on the show. When her part turned out to be more of a supporting role, she asked out of her contract and the producers obliged.

You can just feel it's something like that; clearly they didn't plan on having her character leave. Her subplot was really pretty crucial to the central triangle with Shepherd and Elliott. And even though I've never been a fan of hers, she's good here. Too bad.

The whole show gives off that vague vibe, though, around the half-way point: second-guessing and confusion behind the scenes.
