I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of Turner Classic Movies Greatest Classic Films Collection: Tarzan - Volume 2, Starring Johnny Weissmuller at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=51706 and...Paul, of all the smart things you have written, and there are plenty of those, this might be the smartest and most insightful. I have long thought about the so-called progressive content, and hated that aspect. But, Johnny had a soul, and that was enough for me to love these films. Sidebar: Brenda Joyce passed a year or two ago. I don't know much about her later years, but there are enough hints indicating it was probably close to tragic. |
