DVD Talk review of 'Celebrity Bowling'
Stuart Galbraith IV's review of the Celebrity Bowling 3-DVD set is darned accurate; he definitely gets the appeal of this '70s show! This is low-key, low-budgeted fun in its own special way.
It was a pleasant shock to find S'More Entertainment put this out after the reruns on ESPN Classic ended recently. I, too, hope this collection performs well enough another volume (or more) is released, especially if it includes the two shows with the Brady kids!
It should be noted two episodes on the set have very noticeable playback glitches; they are due to the condition of the source tapes, however, and don't detract from overall enjoyment of what's being watched. (S'More should've noted this with little warnings before said shows.)
By the way, Stuart, while Bob Newhart wasn't bowling as well as Roy Rogers, he's pretty consistent on the shows he's on, overall. I'd rather have him on my bowling team than Robert Clary!
