DVD Talk review of 'The Woman on the Beach'

I read Bill Gibron's DVD review of The Woman on the Beach at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=50712 and...Bill, The Southerner did not find much of an audience, with or without Renoir's nomination as best director. No audience, and no interference. Also, no reason to believe he could have been successful in the United States, at least in hindsight. The screenplay for Ambersons has been published, and with the exception of a moment or two at the end, matches well with the completed picture. And, no audience for that either.
