DVD Talk review of 'True Blood: The Complete Third Season' (Blu-ray)

I read John Sinnott's DVD review of True Blood: The Complete Third Season at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=49109 and...I love the show but felt Season Three, with a few great exceptions, was a let down after Seasons One and Two. Far too much time was spent on who's dating who or who's screwing who rather than the supernatural. Since the season was universally acclaimed, I fear Season Four will slide further down this slope till it's indistinguishable from a slightly spooky "Gossip Girl". And the whole Sookie is a Fairy story line? Once intriguing, became laughable as it depicted the 'Fairy World' full of beautiful people prancing round. They could have done it better.

I thought this season spent about the same amount of screen time on the relationships as the earlier ones. And I'll admit that's not my favorite part of the show. As for Sookie's origins,
Spoiler:
yes the brief glimpse of the fairy world did look idyllic, but your forgetting the story Bill told her: male fairies liked to rape human women. That's how the fairy blood got into her family. We mainly saw women fairies too. I"m betting that the men aren't so nice and pure.
