DVD Talk review of 'American Dad!, Vol. 6'

I read Thomas Spurlin's DVD review of American Dad!, Vol. 6 at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=48274 and...is it my imagination or does this set have multi aspect ratios. You would think they would do it all letterboxed or all full frame, but why mix them up?

Nope, it's not your imagination. Starting with "Don't Look a Smith Horse in the Mouth" (mid-way), the aspect ratio changes from 4x3 to 16x9, preserving the broadcast framing.

Wikipedia:

"Don't Look a Smith Horse in the Mouth" is the tenth episode of the fifth season of American Dad!. It aired on January 3, 2010 on Fox and was the first American Dad episode to air in 720p high-definition.

I would have thought the show would have made the switch over earlier, but better late then never.
