FYI, the first blu-ray release of a Hammer film was Paranoiac in the UK, not this.

I know that. My review calls it "the first Hammer horror film released to Blu-ray anywhere in the world." PARANOIAC, a fine film, isn't horror but a psychological thriller.

I watched this recently and really enjoyed it. It's one of the more fun Hammer movies I've seen.

I like this movie a lot more than the reviewer. Based on this Synapse release, I'm really looking forward to their versions of Hands of the Ripper and Twins of Evil. In particular, Hands of the Ripper is an excellent gem of a film, mixing gothic horror, twisted pyschology, and slasher movies into one intriguing package.
