Recommend a great tv series on dvd!!!
I just finished Sons Of Anarchy season 2 and I need something else (before I find The Pacific used)!
In particular something with a season long story arc, not episode to episode stories.
I have seen and love:
Deadwood
Six Ft Under
The Wire (my fave)
Fringe
Lost
Sons
Dexter (excellent)
Entourage
Sopranos
Breaking Bad (amazing!)
Burn Notice
Weeds
True Blood
What haven't I discovered yet?

Given that list, you've probably already tried the other HBO historical series like Rome and Carnivale, but if not, they're well worth a watch.
I'd also recommend Spartacus if you liked 300 at all and can stand the style of fight scenes it used.

If you liked X-Files at all, I'd recommend Millennium. Season 1 is a little more "monster-of-the-week" than "long story arcs", but Season 2 switches gears dramatically.

Supernatural. The 1st couple of seasons are sort of monster of the week, but there has been a pretty great overall story arc going thru all 6 seasons

Firefly
Buffy Vampire Slayer / Angel (It's not a good fit for everyone, but for those who end up liking it it becomes the benchmark all other shows get measured upon)
Babylon 5 (after The Wire, it is my #2 show)
Farscape
Maybe Weeds and 24... tough call as you've pretty much covered all the greats.

If you're in the mood for a thoroughly bizarre experience that'll play with your mind, then Twin Peaks is definitely the way to go. Also, I'll throw out my stock "you've probably never heard of this" recommendation -- Defying Gravity.

Re: Recommend a great tv series on dvd!!!
First off, it's my favorite show of all time. Joe Straczynski, the creator of B5, had the whole 5-year story arc already planned out before a script was written or the show was green-lit. Therefore, what you get is a show in which there are things in many episodes (even the pilot) that are put there with forethought that are referenced in future seasons. You see flash forwards and other references for which you don't get the context for another 50 episodes, for example. It's truly great. There are two episodes in particular, one in season 1 and one in season 4, for which you see the same story, but from two different perspectives.
Another unique thing about this show was that it was the first time in television history, according to what I have read, that a full season of a show was written by one person. I believe Straczynski wrote every episode in season 2 and all but one in season 3 and most of them in season 4. It was truly one man's vision for a 5 year story that came to fruition.
In addition, you can follow the Lurker's Guide for evey episode. It has the real-time analysis and comments by Straczynski on each episode as it aired, so there's no spoilers or anything. Everything was captured as written the week after the episode aired.
I also second Firefly (with the movie Serenity to finish up the series, an amazing movie.)

Slings and Arrows. Brilliant Canuck comedy that does for the theater what Ricky Gervais' original The Office did for office-dwellers. First season regulars included Rachel McAdams. Just love this show.

Prison Break - good cheese
The Unit - died too early
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - again, to young to die
