These "October Horror Movie Challenge" threads are for the discussion of the films in the 31 Films in 31 Days Subset.

Main Discussion Thread | The List Thread

The plan is for everyone to watch this film on the October day in the thread title, and to start discussing it the morning of the following day.
You may start discussion early if you want, but the preferred plan is for this to be as much of a group exercise as possible, with all of us viewing it "together" and discussing after.

Of course, you are totally encouraged to participate in these threads even if you haven't watched the movie on the designated day.
Even if you haven't watched it in years, or are not participating in the Horror Challenge, please feel free to chime in.

Spoiler tags are unnecessary in these discussion threads, so if you have yet to see the film BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

Oh that's who it is. For some reason, I always thought it was some guy from an Italian 70's crime-thriller Anyway, saw this for the first time just after midnight and loved it. I was always aware of it's following, but I expected it would be kind of on a So-bad-it's-good level. Not quite the case. The dialogue was pure genius (Undoubtedly, the best lines that I've yet to hear in this challenge) Thank you so much for picking this one!

I enjoyed it again as well - remember it from the 80's. I did get a little tired of the 'thrill me' line, but that's really my only complaint - and not much of one at that! Fun movie!

I love this movie so much, I used to rent it every weekend when I was younger, I used to make my mom drive me around to different rental stores looking for Night of the Creeps 2, which of course does not exist (pre-internet life)

Trevor mentioned my favorite line - I also love how fast she gets over Brad dying at the end.

Love this movie - so much fun. It's great it finally got the Blu-Ray/DVD release it deserved.

Always a great watch, but I seem to have run into the problem of seeing this too many times. It's hard to just sit down and watch it now. But I still enjoy it immensely.

Oh, and I second that "Stryper Rules" - best bathroom graffiti ever.

Re: "Night of the Creeps" Reviews/Discussion - 2010 Horror Challenge: Day 15

I went through a period in the 80s where I never went to theaters, so I had never seen this until it was recently released. Watched it for the first time in April and loved it! Pretty sure I would have loved it back in 1896 and spent 24 years clamoring for a home video release.

The only negative I can think of right now is that the two leads are very mediocre imo, could have better cast or written or performed.

Fun film about alien slugs that wreak havoc on Earth by reanimating the dead. Tom Atkins is great, Plan 9 from Outer Space is showing on a television, and there are a zombie cat and dog. This was another film that I didn't particularly care for when it first came out; now, I think that it's a hoot from start to (almost) finish. It really has that 80s vibe in spades. While watching it this time around, I didn't remember the film ending as it did. Turns out that Fred Dekker stuck a new ending on the film! (And I later found the original ending in the special features section, so I didn't get upset or think that I had lost my mind.)

I have watched this movie countless times over the years, and it just never gets old. This is definitely one of my all time favorite horror films.

Thanks for clearing this up. It's sloppily explained on "Alternate versions" at IMDB.

Re: "Night of the Creeps" Reviews/Discussion - 2010 Horror Challenge: Day 15

I remember one of my friends back in the day rented this all the time and answered the phone "thrill me" for about a year. This one and Critters cost us regularly at the local mom and pop rental store. Still has some of the best lines that just pop up out of nowhere. My favorite Tom Atkins character, but The Fog is still my overall favorite movie in which he appears.
