DVD Talk review of 'Make 'Em Laugh: The Funny Business Of America'
I read Stuart Galbraith IV's DVD review of Make 'Em Laugh: The Funny Business Of America at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=35908 and...I was also annoyed with the PBS take on history that got shoehorned into the show.Let's face it, Lenny Bruce was busted for saying dirty words. It wasn't a Machiavellian plot to silence his ideas.America in the early sixties wasn't Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia. And Buster Keaton's latter-day TV career got short shrift-Keaton himself wouldn't have agreed that his career "never recovered".

That's the way the system works. That link enables people reading your comment to click over to the review you're talking about.

"Lenny Bruce: Swear to Tell the Truth" is a much more thorough and engrossing documentary on the subject.

I agree with Mr. Salty. Bruce wasn't targeted only for his language, but for what he said.
