DVD Talk review of 'Death Race (Unrated)'
I read Brian Orndorf's DVD review of Death Race (Unrated) at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=35725 and...
Seriously Brian. You give "Mamma Mia!" a 4.5/5.0 rating and this 0.0/5.0!? Seriously. "Mamma Mia!" was the worst film from a major studio I've seen in years and years. It was also the worst musical I've ever seen. And that includes "The Pirate Movie". But back to "Death Race", it is what it is. Your typical no brainer action film. It certainly doesn't deserve a zero star rating though.

I'm pretty sure based on this review that I'd have given the Death Race reboot two stars, advised a rental, and felt slightly sheepish about liking it anyway. Haven't seen it yet, but I'd say you can take that to the bank.
Love him or hate him, Mr. Orndorf crafts reviews that are non-stop, roller-coaster thrill rides, and he leaves it on the floor.

I thought Death Race sucked too, I wouldn't give it 0/5 because I found it at the very least watchable. Pains me to say that because I hate agreeing with Orndorf.

I'll have a two-and-a-half star 'Recommended' review up tonight for the Blu-ray version, I'm kinda-sorta embarrassed to say. Following up one of the highlights of Criterion's first waves of high definition releases with a gloriously stupid action flick that has an eighteen-wheeler with a frickin' tank stapled onto the back... Eclectic!
