DVD Talk review of 'Love and a . 45'

I read Phil Bacharach's DVD review of Love and a . 45 at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=34349 and...

does anyone know if this recent re-release of this title LOVE AND A .45 is ACTUALLY anamorphically enhanced (16x9). Lions Gate seem to have just stated LETTERBOX on the back cover and WIDESCREEN on the front.

thanks for your help !

It is, indeed, anamorphic widescreen.

I got a bit confused... I thought this was a review of Abel Ferrara's rape/revenge film. Oops! That would be "Ms. 45". Doh!

This DVD arrived today via the recent DD sale.....

SADLY - IT'S FAR FROM ANAMORPHIC !!! IT'S LETTERBOXED TO THE MAX !! (edit - this is exactly the same cover as the reviewed item)

I'm seriously doubting you even reviewed this film. What a waste of money - even though it was a few $$ - watching this on a 50in plasma is a complete farce when it's has thick black borders all around the picture.

Even LIONSGATE should be shot for telling me it was 'supposedly' widescreen.

And the point of their re-release was ?????????????????????????????????

The review at DVD Verdict also says it's non-anamorphic. That's the only other review of this release I've been able to find.

I read that one via a DVD-Basen search prior to asking my original post (Verdict doesn't have a forum) - and found that to be more accurate (such as the spanish subtitles defaulting as well).

Oh well - I forwarded an email to Lionsgate as well expressing my utter disappointment in this pointless re-release. Pity their usage of the word 'widescreen' is a tad meaningless (they must be copying Fox !!)

my recommendation on this title - SKIP IT.
