DVD Talk review of 'Rear Window: Special Edition (Universal Legacy Series)'

I read Randy Miller III's DVD review of Rear Window: Special Edition (Universal Legacy Series) at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=34858 and...

Can anyone confirm that these new legacy series dvd's are the same quality as the masterpiece collection?

It's been said other places online that these legacy series look better than the masterpiece collections.

As a poster above me said...yes, these appear to be slightly better than the Masterpiece Editions, possibly because they're given more room to breathe as two-disc sets. They don't appear to be entirely new transfers. DVD Beaver, for example, has compared some of these Legacy Editions with the Masterpieces and the differences are noticeable.

After seeing how well they managed to clean up Psycho, I'd definitely love to see them take it to the next level by releasing the BD. I'd have no problem dipping again.
