DVD Talk review of 'Dragon Ball Z Double Feature - Dead Zone / World's Strongest' (Blu-ray)

I read John Sinnott's DVD review of Dragon Ball Z Double Feature - Dead Zone / World's Strongest at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=33634 and...

Concerning the aspect ratio, these were shown theatrically in Japan and we animated for a theatrical aspect ratio (probably around 1.85:1) though the full cels were probably still 1.33:1 as was the norm for almost all animated features in the 80's and 90's. So the Blu-Ray would actually preserve the theatrical ratio of the films.

Yeah, that's what I thought but couldn't find any hard conformation one way or the other. In the US they've always been released in full frame, and I've never heard anyone scream about that so I thought there was a possibility that was they way they were created.

Thanks for the info Pixy!

John
