DVD Talk review of 'In the Name of the King'

I read Ian Jane's DVD review of In the Name of the King at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=32644 and...

I couldn't agree even more. With Uwe Boll blowing up so much of the media, you'd think his films would be completely blacklisted. That said, people have been relying so much more on the tainted rep rather than the actual content

I felt like watching In the Name of the King was entertaining to say the least. Sure, my IQ probably decreased, but I was laughing nonstop at it's incompetence. I feel like Boll was being sarcastic with this film, in the same manner as postal, and a lot of times, disaster is more exciting than perfection

I'm a fan of movies that surprise me, whether it be absurdly scripted moments or clever twisted plots. The content of this movie was never aiming to be great, but the vicious fight sequences and positively inane conversations, made this great to watch.

I hate Uwe Boll as much as the next guy, especially after he completely tarnished my love for house of the dead. But from a unbiased point of view, In the Name of the King was almost more bearable than LOTR because it wasn't TRYING to be epic. It was sarcastically saying "hey, I'm not a great film, but at least I make you laugh"

but the only thing is about mr Boll is that he actually thinks he's making the big epic film, and works of art.

Re: DVD Talk review of 'In the Name of the King'

I just watched this today and it wasn't as bad as I expected, i've certainly seen worse movies in my life. But it wasn't exactly good that's for sure. The funniest part of the movie I thought was the end when "An Uwe Boll Film" comes up on the screen so epically, like the guy is soooo proud of this movie.

But more importantly, how is it that catastrocastro, who is the starter of this very thread, has a 0 post count? He clearly has a post....and yet he does not.
