DVD Talk review of 'Beowulf (Director's Cut)' (HD DVD)
I read Adam Tyner's DVD review of Beowulf (Director's Cut) at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=32457 and I agree whole heartedly with his review of the film, however...
... I would like to know the differences between this version and the Theatrical version.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer this.

I tried to clock it (like I did with Zodiac), but the differences are fairly minimal. In fact, there's only 28 seconds difference between the DC and theatrical versions. The biggest difference is during Grendel's assault where they've added more blood and gore. There's also extra shots that would be considered sexual inuendos. But all together, it probably would've (or did) land the film an R rating.

I asked this in another 'Beowulf' thread - but the audio (standard dvd) seems restrained, the sound levels seem set way too low... how is the sound comparing the standard DVD to the HD-DVD version?

The monsters are top notch. The voice acting is great. There's a stellar cast. The end battle is worth owning this disc alone. Very exciting sequence.
The special features are a little weak. But the making of featurette is very interesting. The picture quality is outstanding (even for SD), the sound is pretty good too (but not DTS).
