DVD Talk review of 'A Clockwork Orange' (HD DVD)

I read Daniel Hirshleifer's DVD review of A Clockwork Orange at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=31506 and...

Well after reading that the picture and sound are not that great does that mean I should just get the standard DVD release instead?

I haven't seen the new DVD release, so I can't tell you how much/little improvement there is on the HD DVD. Personally, I find that even mediocre HD is easier on my eyes than any standard DVD, just due to the lack of compression artifacts. But if you can find the standard DVD significantly cheaper, then it might make sense to get it instead of the HD.

Amazon is charging the same price, and the street price is probably only $5 or so different. Why not get an HD version?
