Anyone reviewing Benson?

Season One comes out tomorrow, and I haven't seen any reviews for it ANYWHERE. I only found out about its existence because of the Best Buy circular, which is the absolute LAST place I should find out about things.

Hi, it's been on my list for a week or so, and.....I just finished it! (It was over twelve hours long) The review just went in the line-up; it should post for viewing tonight or tomorrow morning.

Three stars; a lot of fun to revist!

Paul

P.S. If you're ever looking for something you don't see somewhere else, check out all the individual reviewers' pages, where they list the coming reviews they've got on deck. It's a good resource.

I hope you like the review!

Is Missy Gold interviewed in the new documentary? I've always been curious how she grew up.

No, she doesn't appear; it's only Guillaume, Noble and producer Tony Thomas.

Yes, it does look rather rushed.

Remember that the forum FAQ says if you link to a review with a site you're affiliated with, post more than just a link.

Sorry Adam...forgot to include a small quote from the review...I deleted the post, but since Paul responded, and the link is still there, here's a quote for anyone that might care/want a second opinion:

Most sitcoms donít age very well, but Benson is one of the few that is really timeless. The jokes about politics are just as funny as they were 25 years ago, and since Benson was one of the first comedy series that presented an African American in a prominent role on primetime TV, Guillaume truly became a role model for both young minorities and for just showing that people could coexist without race having to divide them.

She's a psychologist now and working up in Maine. She's no longer an actress.

The DVDTalk review is here. Makes me want to pick up the set.

Hopefully later sets will be released so viewers get some kind of explanation about the cast shake-ups in the '80s, i.e. the arrival of Clayton Endicott III (Auberjonois) and replacing Stadlen and McWilliams with Ethan Phillips and Didi Conn.

I'm not a fan of this show but is this the season Jerry Seinfeld appeared in, & later got fired from the series with no explanation. Or was that season 2?

Seinfeld wasn't so much fired as let go. There really wasn't any point to the character. It's funny seeing him with hair though.

BTW, thanks for the review!
