DVD Talk review of 'The Warriors'

I read Adam Tyner's DVD review of The Warriors at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=28803 and...I have to ask. If this movie from 1978 looks so amazing why do the majority of 70s films on HD look so bad? Is it just laziness on the part of Universal?

Anyway thanks for the great review. I'm adding this on to my buy list.
