Peter Watkin's "La Commune"?

Has anyone seen the new release of "La Commune" by First Run Features? I'm just curious about how the transfer is?

Finished watching the entire 3DVD set!

What I could tell you quickly before I write the review is that this disc is a far cry from the Project X treatment. What has happened here is a direct port of the French disc with burnt-in English subtitles. Plenty of "ghosting" is evident but on the bright side the transfer the French company has provided is quite good.

A missed opportunity without a doubt.

Thanks Again!

Pro-B,

Thanks for the heads up.
I don't know what we would do on the Forum without you!

Doesn't surprise me much, to be honest. First Run is a lot like Kino in that regard -- opting for PAL->NTSC ports.

Of course, by the same token, Project X did the same with Punishment Park, porting over MoC's transfer.
