DVD Talk review of 'Home Alone: Family Fun Edition'

I read Brian Orndorf's DVD review of Home Alone: Family Fun Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=24922 and...

Oh man, I've been waiting for a decent disc of this for so long. Glad to hear it a great one!

So it's definitely a new transfer? Are there any comparison screenshots anywhere?

I've got the other screener (unless there's more than two!) and I'll have a review up later this week. Brian did a great job, though---I'm pretty much in agreement with everything he said.

EDIT: Yes, it's a new transfer (the old version was non-anamorphic). I don't own the old disc so I can't do a comparison, but it's a safe bet that this is a great improvement. It's been what, seven years since the last release?

The old disc is a real shitty non-anamorphic one. I thought there was an R2 anamorphic out somewhere, but I could never seem to find it. At last I'll finally be able to watch it decently for the Holidays.

Oh sweet. I guess I forgot the old release was non-anamorphic, silly me. Looks like this is a must buy for me now.

Yeah, not only was it non-anamorphic it was just a really crappy transfer as well. I can't wait to finally get a decent viewing out of this. I never listen to commnetaries, but I will be listening to this one.

I do remember however that the old transfer was really crappy. I just wanted to be sure it was a new one.
