If you aren't opposed to subtitles, A Tale of Two Sisters is a quite creepy, and is largely a haunted house movie, though perhaps not in the traditional sense.

Buy The Innocents (1960), wait til dark, turn out the lights and then play the movie.

(Note that if you watch it alone this way, have a fresh change of underwear nearby because the current pair might get a bit messy before it's over.)

what??? no mention of 13 ghosts??? either the william castle directed original or the recent bob zemekis remake
