which independence day dvd is the best? been wanting to pick it up for awhile.

I beleive that the 5 Star that was released was considered the "best" release, but in the end I really think its up to personal preference.

btw not sure if you can get the 5 star version anymore just checked Amazon and it is only available from the re sellers......

The 'Five Star Collection' was the first release, and while it isn't readily available anymore, the same contents of that 2-disc DVD can be found on a later release, in a digipak with slipcover - part of a series of numbered 'collector's editions'.

If you don't care about any of the extras, there are numerous single disc releases that are all the same, but in different packaging every time.
