The best movie released on DVD ever...
...whose title begins with Q, X, or Z is ??
I love my dvd collection, with somewhere around 400 titles, but I'm sure it pales in comparison to many of those here. Looking through it, I noticed I have no titles (not counting tv shows or 'series' dvds) that begin with Q, X, or Z. SO?! What are the best titles released on dvd whose titles begin with Q, X, or Z? And if you have such titles in your collection, do post! If my collection is any indication, you'll probably have the fewest of these titles than others beginning with any other letter. Have at you! |
Just a few possibilities for good movies beginning with those letters:
Quiz Show X-Men / X-Men 2 Zelig |
Quick and the Dead (Raimi)
The Quiet Man (1952) Quiz Show X-men/X2 X-Files, Fight the Future Zelig Zoolander Zorba the Greek |
Is this a joke?
|
Quicksilver, because Kevin Bacon rules. If Zapped was out that would be the best "z" title.
|
Z for Zathura.
|
Quick Change
Quiet Days in Clichy Zero Woman: Red Handcuffs |
Z: The Masterworks Edition (possibly the best political thriller made, IMO).
(I like the Quick Change suggestion for Q and X-Men for X). |
X: Xanadu - I have always loved Olivia Newton John and yes I do love this movie no matter what others think of it.
I don't own any Q or Z movies either. |
QUILLS
It's great, and it's like five bucks. |
Here are my nominations
Q The Winged Serpent The Xtro series: Xtro Xtro 2: The Second Encounter Xtro 3: Watch The Skies Zurdo (the town's fate lies in the hands of a marble shooting match :) |
Thus far unmentioned:
Q&A X: The Man with X-Ray Eyes Zero Effect and, of course, Zardoz |
Ones I own which haven't been mentioned:
Quai des Orfevres Zulu Zulu Dawn |
Another vote for Costa Gavras "Z" and Zulu.
And... Zatoichi. |

Actually, I think I just need more shelf space as most of my Zatoichi titles are buried behind other stuff.....out of sight, out of mind. |
While I don't own them....a number of people might have "XXX" and "XXX: State of the Union" in their collections.

Qasablanca
|
Quadrophenia
Que Viva Mexico! Quest for Fire The Quiet American Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl Ziggy Stardust Zigeunerweisen Zorba The Greek Zachariah Zed & Two Naughts Zombie |
X: The Unheard Music

a lot "z" movies i've never even heard of there. and x-men would be in my collection if i wasn't holding out for some sort of uber-collection. |
Z (indeed as mentioned above)
Zelary: the nearly 3-hour Czech love story! Zorba the Greek: arguably Mr.Quinn's best role ever (La Strada considered) Q: Queen Margot (a must for every collection) Queen Christina (Greta Garbo) Quo Vadis (Germany-R2) Qui êtes-vous Polly Maggoo? (William Klein's classic film) Querelle (Fassbinder's most controversial film) Ciao, Pro-B |
Quigley Down Under
X-Men Zu: Warriors from the Magic Mountain |
I'll second Zelig. Very underrated Woody Allen.
