DVD Talk review of 'Superman: Special Edition'
I read Aaron Beierle's DVD review of Superman: Special Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=1873 and... it was good, though I plan to wait for the expected "Director's Cut" specal that may come soon. BTW, you (and the other reviewers) should really know the whole story of what happened before Bryan Singer was chosen as director. Search for "Superman V: The Whole Sordid Saga". This was a very bizarre story. The sad part is... IT'S ALL TRUE!!! Trust me, any Superman fan should know how lucky Superman Returns was from being a TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP!!!
I hope you can check it out.

The current Superman DVD is Donner's so-called "Director's Cut" of the first movie. The original theatrical cut is not available on DVD in Region 1.
Are you sure you're not thinking of Superman II, which is currently being re-edited to incorporate the footage Donner shot for it?
