DVD Talk Review of "The Call of Cthulhu"

Very nice review of a remarkable film. I had the honor and pleasure of seeing it when it premiered at the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR last October, and the theatre was packed to the point that a fire marshall would have gone ballistic. One point from the review that deserves clarification: the Fleur de Lys building used in one shot is the very same house (in HPL's hometown of Providence, RI) that Lovecraft described in the story (I figure that using italics here is something that he would approve of . This is another example of the exemplary attention to detail that Andrew and Sean went to in making this film.

I believe you can only buy it here:

As a fan of both Lovecraft and silent films, this is definitely going on my blind buy list.

Both Diabolik and Xploited stock it. It is also carried by a number of specialty dealers in the sf, fantasy and horror genre. Also, check out this link:

Lurker Films also has three volumes of its H.P. Lovecraft Library, which is well worth checking out.

I'm looking forward to picking this up as soon as I get some more money. I saw a trailer for it a while back, and thought it was a very interesting approach to the material. Even though I was somewhat disappointed by Dream-Quest of Unknown Kaddath, I still can't get enough of these indie Lovecraft adaptations.
