DVD Talk review of 'The Val Lewton Horror Collection'
I read DVD Savant's DVD review of The Val Lewton Horror Collection at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=18140 and...
As usual, a fine review and analysis by Glenn. This is probably the most rewarding box set of the year, and worthy of any self-respecting film/horror fan's library.
While I agree with your sentiments about The Leopard Man, I have to admit that the initial murder scene has to be one of the most gripping and terrifying ever committed to screen. I remember watching the film when I was a kid on Night Owl movies in Miami (nothing but B-movies from midnight to 6am, every weeknight, for years. Why can't we have shows like that anymore?) and that one moment literally defined film suspense for me. But yeah, the movie sort of falls apart after that. Still, after 25 years or so, I still get goosebumps watching it.
And Simone Simon is still one of THE most beautiful women to ever grace the silver screen.
Great review. Buy this set people, it can be bought on the cheap and it's worth twice its weight in gold.

I'm a little short for cash for this set and at one time thought of picking up just I walked with a Zombie/Body Snatcher, but I should know better. I want this set.
DVD Savant does really great reviews, especially for horror titles.
