DVD Talk review of 'Saint Seiya (Volume 5)'

I read John Sinnott's DVD review of Saint Seiya (Volume 5) at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=10348 and...

WHy don't you see the whole series before you judge it. You have to see the series volume 10 and on. And check the Hades chapter. I am not saying it would make you change your mind. But it might give you something else to work with

When I wrote the review only the first five discs had been released. I didn't really have anything else to judge it by. I did watch the next volume and I liked it a little bit better, though not much more. I gave Vol. 6 a "Rent it" rating.

I'm glad you like it though, and I do hope that ADV plans on releasing the rest of the series for Saint Seiya fans to enjoy.

One of the frustrations of reviewing a series that is released in piecemeal fashion is that individual volumes will often suffer even while the series as a whole might really stink. The analogy I currently use is that reviewing a disc at a time is akin to reviewing a book by the chapters. Personally, I hate the Saint Seiya series (at least the first part of it) and could never get into it but it has a legion of devoted fans that think it's great...

Otherwise, our reviews are for the individual volumes in most cases so if some of them suffer by comparison, so be it.
