No reviews of SLEDGE HAMMER and Great American Hero season 2 sets yet?

I was hoping for reviews, but not seeing any (and being young enough to remember watching the shows without remember specifics aside from theme songs and catch phrases) I picked the sets up. Greatest American Hero season 2 is definitely worth picking up. The picture is great, and the show in general is excellent (good story lines, great character development, and some excellent dialogue). Too bad I have to wait until August for Season 3, I was hoping for the same quick turn around that was between seasons 1 and 2, but hopefully that means we will get some more extras on the Seaon 3 set.

SLEDGE HAMMER! season 2 is a huge disappointment though, especially after the great job that was done with season 1. As far as the show goes itself, it is fine, the disappointment comes form the picture quality. Before the show starts Alan Spencer (series creator) does a joke monologue about how they switched to 16mm film format for season 2, making the show appear blurry. He then says this was corrected by Anchor Bay using digital retouching. It was not fixed. THe very first shot of the actual show appears to be almost entirely out of focus, and at least during the first 3 episodes it never gets any better. Not only that, but several times during the first episode the picture would actually start to roll on me in specific spots. This set is very disappoitning.

Here's my review for Sledge Hammer Season 2:

BTW Ford, the bit where Alan says that the 16mm film was digitally enhanced to 35mm standard was a joke.

And just for the record, while I agree that the video quality wasn't that great, I never saw the image roll.

The image rolling may just be a defective disc on my part then, because it only does it in one episode (episode one), but it is in the same spot every time and has repeated the rolling on 3 different players (a Toshiba, a JVC, and my Lite On DVD ROM).
