DVD Talk review of 'Purple Butterfly'
I read Ian Jane's DVD review of Purple Butterfly at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=14648 and...
I'm happy to see the movie finally made it to DVD in R1. I saw it in 2003 at the Busan film festival and wondered when it could come to North America. I did see a few mistakes, though. Toru Nakamura was in 2009 (not 2099): Lost Memories, and in your last paragraph you call the movie Purple Dragon. :) It's too bad you didn't like the movie. It does have pacing problems but the message came through strong enough. The cinematography is also great in this movie, and I find it funny that everybody looks frumpy except Mr. Nakamura. I think it's in his contract: "I always, throughout all the movie, have to look GOOD." Anyway, I'm glad to hear the DVD is passable, but I really wish Palm would take a little more care in their DVDs. The movies they release are worth seeing. |
Oops. Thanks for pointing out those typos, I'll fix'em asap.
Glad you dug the film more than I did! |
