DVD Talk review of 'Friday Night Lights'

I read Jason Bovberg's DVD review of Friday Night Lights at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=14047 and...

I think Jason Bovberg's review was very objective. But I have to say that, as an Ol' Boy who grew up in Alabama, in 1979, in a tough old mill town and played his --- off
on a State Championship playoff team (that
lost too) Friday night lights kept my guts in my throat and sent memories rushing back like a stampede. (We were even called the panthers too, and even wore black and white away uniforms with a white helmet with a black P on it ) Two a days in the August heat. They kept trash cans around the edges of the field so you had a quick place to toss your guts when the heat got to You. The parties, the drive in
drivin back after a game, ridin' the bus way off. The locker room scenes were more real than you can imagine. I had to choke back tears
when they shot the guys spittin blood out of their nose. (Man Do I know about that)
All I'm saying really, is, that those guys deserve Oscars because they captured what life
in a tough little old Southern Football town "back in the day" was really like. I know, I was there. (Ha)I didnt find it hollow at the center at all. in fact "my heart was full" Any replies to me anybody wants to make
are welcome, positive or adverse.
