DVD Talk review of 'Black Jack: Mutation'
I read Chris Tribbey's DVD review of Black Jack: Mutation at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=13613 and...
Wait a minute, this is anamorphic? The earlier DVDs are 4:3. Are they open matte?

Hi Eric. It is widescreen....this was a full screen check disc, though....normally those arrive in clear cases or have a sticker that says "not the final product." This had neither. Both the back cover and the <ahref=http://www.centralparkmedia.com/cpmdb/cfpresskit.cfm?Cat=USMD_2463>company (see below) assure that final version is anamorphic widescreen (same with volume seven)...this may account for the few hitches I encountered.

Eric - You don't have an email, so I'm posting a reply from Ivette Perez, a very helpful CPM spokeswoman, here:
"We were able to get them from the licensor. We didn't create anything or
crop anything out. It is a true anamorphic master. I hope this information
is helpful."
This will be true with the final volume of Black Jack OVA as well. Also, any issues I ran into while reviewing their screener copy will be addressed in the final product, according to CPM.
