DVDTalk Review of 'Wild at Heart: Special Edition'

DVDTalk Review of 'Wild at Heart: Special Edition'

Excellent review. Excited me about a release that I was already enthusiastic about.

I just wanted to comment that the reviews on DVDTalk lately have been first rate. Some very well written, well thought out pieces.

10,000 reviews plus and still going strong. Congrats.

WILD AT HEART was the Lynch film that turned me from fan to fanatic. My wife and I must have watched that film 40 times over the years. While I still think MULHOLLAND DR. and ERASERHEAD are his absolute best, HEART is right up there (as is LOST HIGHWAY - which needs to be on DVD now!!!)

Thanks for the wonderful feedback.

I love Lynch's other movies, but Wild at Heart is his absolute bottom of the barrel. This movie is the epitome of everything that people accuse him of being (but usually isn't): weird for weird's sake, shallow, all style and no substance, needlessly violent, near-pornographic, and almost entirely pointless.

I don't hate it outright (though in years past I have felt that way on and off), but it is by far his worst film.

I'd have to agree. I felt almost dirty after seeing it.....

Strongly disagree this is one of Lynch's worst. It's a 5/5 star film for me. A must have for the DVD library. Almost everything about it is perfectly done.

After watching the DVD and all its features. The only thing it's lacking is a director's commentary. Too bad Lynch doesn't participate in those.
