DVD Talk review of 'Mulan: 2-Disc Special Edition'
I read Randy Miller III's DVD review of Mulan: 2-Disc Special Edition at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=12897 and... If it wasn't for my wife saying our original is pretty much shot cause our daughter watched it so much, I probably wouldn't buy this. I hate those 2 words "Family Friendly" version. Just leave it alone. Why do they do this ?

A few readers have informed me of the above fact, so I made sure to correct the review accordingly. Knowing this new information, I'm not sure why Disney would have opted for a 1.85:1 transfer for the original release...but at least we know this wasn't a hack job. :)

I have the single disc. Should I get the two disc? I never have time for bonus features, but I would upgrade for an improvment in picture and sound. Has anyone compared the two?
Thanks, Steve |
I don't believe there are significant improvements in audio/video quality to justify a purchase on those factors alone. In your case, the only big bonus it does provide is a 5.1 Mandarin Chinese track. If that's a big deal to you, go for it. If it's not, you're better off passing.
