Few people know that Betty Hutton spent a year learning the straight bar so she could get the part of Holly. The reason the stunt double was a perfect match was that Betty did all the stunts herself. This was revealed by Betty herself on Turner Classic Movies Channel's Private Screenings a few years ago.
