Manhunter LE or Divimax?
I recently saw the 2-disc LE at Borders for $11.99 and almost bought it, but decided to see what the opinion on it was first. Since the 2nd disc is apparently ridiculously poor quality, I am leaning towards the DiviMax edition, but that only has 2.0 audio so am unsure what to do still...
Are the extras on the LE much better than those on the Divimax or what? Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks...

Unfortunately, there's no perfect release of Manhunter in Region 1. The "theatrical" cut has extra scenes that weren't in the original and is missing footage that was. And the director's cut came from some pretty poor source material.
The best version out there is the R2 Japanese DVD released by MGM. It has the real theatrical version using what looks like the Divimax transfer and DD and DTS 5.1 audio. The only drawback(aside from the cost and the fact that it's a Region 2 disc) is that the only extra is the theatrical trailer. That's why I'm hanging on to the two Anchor Bay releases and am stuck with three versions of Manhunter sitting on my shelf.

I bought the single disc Anchor Bay release at Wal-Mart for $5.50 in the bargain bin. It is widescreen and mastered in THX it also has Dolby 5.1 sound. The special features on it are, two featurettes and a trailer. I bought it blind, for the money its a no brainer and the A/V quality is decent on that version. Here is a link to a review for the one im talking about...

Most 'average' people are going to want to just get the Divimax one. Completists would want both (and, as has been mentioned, will still be left unsatisified.)

The original "Limited Edition" version does not contain the real theatrical cut of the film, contrary to its labelling. The disc is missing several scenes and pieces of dialogue. However, the THX-mastered disc does have the best picture quality.
The DiViMax edition is the altered "Director's Cut" of the movie. Picture quality is better than the other DC that was included in the Limited Edition set, but not as good as the THX "Fake Theatrical Cut".
Here's a full review of the DiViMax disc in comparison to the LE:

And here's a review of the Japanese R2 disc, which is the real theatrical cut:

Thanks for your replies. How incredibly annoying that there is no definitive version. I am still not totally sure which one I am going to get...
