DVD Talk review of 'Seabiscuit (Widescreen Edition)'

I read James W. Powell's DVD review of Seabiscuit (Widescreen Edition) at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=8736 and...

Why is it that in the two disc set, the film frame included is 1.85:1 and the film is 2.35:1?

Seabiscuit

I really like this film in the theatres, but I am very disappointed to see that we are being flim flammed by the release of the regular Seabiscuit without the Special Edition being available. I bought my regular copy today, but had not idea it was second hand goods. This is as bad as buying the Godfather last year to find it has been redone for this year.

The SE is available everywhere. It's $29.99 at Circuit City, $31.99 at Costco and $35.99 at Best Buy. I'm sorrry if you didn't know about it, but you can't really blame Universal for that. They've always been up front about the two seperate simultanious releases.

I loved the movie - so did mom. Tobey Maguire is EXCELLENT in it. I don't know how much replayability value it has, however. I can't see myself watching it a lot as, say, Pirates of the Caribbean. Suspense was an integral part of the movie and you lose that after the first time. I'm still happy with the purchase because after my sis, b-i-l, and nephew watch it'd be $30 for $5 people and I get to get the senitype, booklet, and 2 DVDs (The extras look awesome and I look forward to having time to watch them).

Edit ....My bad, I see you were just pointing out the difference between the presentation in the theater (2:35 to 1) as opposed to the DVD (1:85 to 1) . However I do believe the DVD is also presented in 2:35 to 1.

****Ignore****
I also bought the single disc version at Bestbuy. Although I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, I don't see anywhere in Roger's review where it states that the single disc version is 1:85 to 1, while the 2-disc version is 2:35 to 1.
