Any Underworld DVD reviews already?

I'm really looking forward to this DVD and am hoping for good news.

No reviews yet.

It's Columbia though. How crap* could it be?
... and the Superbit of this is inevitable, given the sound mix of the film.

*I of course mean the disc. The film, however, is unsalvageable!

Are you aware that we have a forum just for these type of topics? Unless the review forum is for job performance evaluation and nobody told me.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the Underworld that was released this year in theaters....

Man Hendrik, you sure do have a hardon for referring people to obscure, other region titles, don't you?

Sorry. I wasn't requesting a review. I was wondering if any professional reviews were up yet. Didn't mean to make anyone upset.

Though I appreciate the link, Hendrik, I was reffering to reviews of the DVD. I just wanted to know if any were up already. I already know I liked the film, I just want to know if the DVD has a good transfer and good audio.

Hendrik, it's best to leave the Underworld fans be. They like the movie. Hey, in some countries, people like to eat cockroaches. To each their own.

I'm surprised there's no DVD reviews up yet. Slow before Christmas?

Okay, I'll say this one more time, I couldn't care less what anyone thought about the movie itself. No offense but I liked it and you didn't - big friggin' deal. All I wanted to know was if there were any reviews up for the DVD. I'm interested in quality of the video and audio on the DVD. Nothing more and nothing less.

Since no one has chimed in with any responses pertaining to what I was asking about, I'll assume there are no reviews as of yet.

Sorry, I didn't notice that comment (my eyes veered to quickly to your joke). Anyhoo, thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll just have to wait.

I can't access the review, but dvd.mysic.com gives the DVD a four-star review (out of five).

Again, I can't access the review so I don't know if it's just a reprint of a movie review with a picture of teh DVD cover.

I was able to access the review. It's not a review of the DVD but rather reviews for the movie taken from Amazon.com (I know this because I've read this reviews before at that site).

But thanks for trying.

I'm curious about something. Underworld will be available for purchase before The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, right? If so, why has The League been available to rent since December 11th and Underworld is not? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Well I'll buy this movie for the visual style, the White Wolfish atmosphere, and the soundtrack that I know will rock my surround system with the gun fights.

Plus Kate Beckinsale is a hottie and she can magically never run out of bullets.

Most of the acting and the story itself are sub-par though.

I was able to get a hold of a copy of the DVD today. So far, I've found the disc to have an astonishing 5.1 presentation and excellent image quality. More later.

Though I really liked this movie and will be buying it, I'd say rent it first. It's good but not great. In fact, odds are 50-50 between you're liking/loving it or hating it. It's not terribly original and makes some choices with the vampire/werewolf mythos that have rubbed many the wrong way.

It's not a film to risk a blind buy on. But, either way, I hope you enjoy it.

I just bought this movie on 7/28 and picked it up today.
Wow!
I enjoyed this movie. I plan on getting the sequel.
