Digital Video Essentials calibration disc

I just ordered the new Digital Video Essentials disc from Amazon to help calibrate my 32" FS Sony WEGA. I've had the TV for a little over a month and am satisfied on the whole. I do have an issue with black detail that I would like to get fixed, though. Seems when I turn up brightness, the detail shows, but it's grainy and washed up. Hopefully the DVE disc will help somehow. I'm using the THX optimizer right now

Question for those who have/used it... Does it have a TV selection menu to help calibrate it perfectly with that particular television, or does it have a default program for all TVs? Just wondering how in-depth and how much of a difference it will make for my TV, considering I've already used the THX optimizer. How happy are you guys with your DVE disc, and did it help the picture quality alot?

Such a thing would be impossible. There are thousands upon thousands of different television models available, with more released every year, and each is different from the others.
