DVD Talk Gold Edition
Excellant.
never seen the LD (where most of the extras come from), but this has to be a fresh transfer.
black levels are very deep and the picture very sharp. grain looks normal, didn't see any EE, and it doesn't have a 'digital' appearence.
PQ is right up there w/ Sunset Boulevard,
The Bad & The Beautiful and Criterions Rebecca.
audio sounded clear and without distorition (only listened in mono- there is also a stereo track)
i poppped in Mildred Pierce after watching this and it was actually a little disappointing looking.
that one is too smooth, like the scrubbed out all the grain. that just doesn't seem natural.
TDTESS has what i would say is a natural grain look that is never intrusive.
what the hell you waiting for a review for?
run out and grab it asap- its only $15.
