Review Request for WAR AND PEACE (Audrey Hepburn version)
 

Anyone seen this DVD yet? How is the transfer? Is this a flipper or did they squeeze the whole thing on one DVD???

I just purchased this one and I am very pleased with it. It is on a single one sided disk, wide screen, and is from a good print.

Super - I bought it on release date but didn't really want to open it until there was SOMEONE'S review - I haven't been able to find any "official" reviews anywhere, so thank you very much for your opinion.

I think the Russian version is way better.

So do I and I am looking forward to its release in the New Year.

THAT was not the question - of course the Russian version is super and also on my shopping list - but sorry guys - while this version is hacked up story wise and has a totally miscast Henry Fonda (along with some of the European actors) it does have a luminous Audrey Hepurn and beautiful cinematography by Jack Cardiff - and in this case....that's enough for me to also buy this relatively inexpensive "addition" to the ultimate Russian version.

Anyone has any ideas of what the Russian will look? Video presentation wise?

Can't find any good reviews on the Russian 4 disc set.
