...on The Amazing World Of Cult Movies site there's this capsule review of the movie:
AN OCCASIONAL HELL (Salome Breziner; 1996) Only lovers of films so bad they're funny are likely to appreciate this wretched direct-to-video erotic thriller. As a former cop who now teaches English at a small-town college, Tom Berenger grunts and narrows his eyes a lot while weeping over his catheter and shooting heroin. Soon he is hired by suspicious widow Valeria Golino, who spends her time acting panicky and talking about "leetle leezards" on her window. Berenger then repeats "leetle leezards," as does Golino. Berenger is also haunted by the spirit of seductive Kari Wuhrer, who has some nude sex scenes with Golino's husband (Stephen Lang) in a car before he is blown apart with a shotgun. When Berenger starts hallucinating himself snapping photos of Wuhrer and Lang having sex in a field, the viewer should realize that the film is completely out of control. Senseless and silly, it is hard to believe that this ridiculous exercise was meant to be taken seriously. ...Lord knows what the DVD will be like... I'm sure it won't make the movie itself any 'better' though... ...My thoughts? Poor Tom Berenger... I can still remember back to when it appeared that he was a shoo-in for the next opening spot as Sexy-Leading-Man... sic transit gloria something-or-other... . . . ;) . . . |
Kari Wuhrer...mmmm
