Review Wanted: The $5.37 Sonny Chiba Movies from DDD (Streetfighter Collection)

I'm still waiting on mine and want to hear what others have to say about these movies. How many of them are on the DVD, is it the uncut versions? How is the quality?

There are 3 Sonny Chiba collections out there
Classic Sonny Chiba Movies-BodyGuard, Shogun's Ninja, Sister Streetfighter. 3 on 1 disc (see my review) of American Treasures in this forum.

Then there is the 2 disc Brentwood release with Streetfighter, and its 2 sequels, never seen this one but I ordered it.

Then there is the one you are asking about
Sonny Chiba's Greatest Movies
with the three streetfighter films on one disc

Sorry thats all the info I can give.

I have two of the Sony Chiba double features

Street Figher/Return of Street Fighter is presented in full widescreen, with acceptable picture quality and sound. The movies are very 70s action, along the vein of Enter the Dragon, and are pretty violent. Chiba stars as Terry Tsuguri, an anti-hero if there ever was one. The plots are some amusing -- in the first one, Chiba is hired to break someone out of prison, and when he isn't payed he goes after the people that hired him. In the second one, Chiba is hired to kill someone in prison so they won't squeal... Who needs plot where you have action?

Legend of the Eight Samurai/Shogun's Ninja is disappointing -- the video is butchered down to pan & scan, and it looks to be transfered off of an old VHS copy. That said, Shogun's Ninja is one of my favorite Samurai Cheeseballs, and is so bizarre that it could be the Repo Man of Samurai.
