Retailers commanded "top dollar" for this disc for a long time. Being that it was released featureless and with 2.0 sound, I held off, until prices dropped. My significant other was watching it in P&S on cable and I decided it was time to pick it up for $15 or so at DeepDiscount, instead of the $24 price tag everyone was asking for. Well, the 2.0 "barely pro-logic" sound is still hurting my ears, the music doesn't sound as good as the "eighties" CD release versions. I mean, I'm a stickler for original technology when it comes to movies, but for me this was screaming "makeover" in the sound department. The video was good and befitting of a movie from the eighties, but unfortunately the sound matched ...and it hurt my ears. Not just the music but the sound overall, was definitely outdated. Good movie and worth owning IMHO.

Have to agree, if ever a soundtrack had an eighties "feel" to it, this one was it. I wouldn't go so far as saying it hurt my ears but it wasn't high fidelity. Has a commentary which was pretty good for what I heard. If you like classic 80's gratuitous nudity and tear jerker endings, it's a keeper.
