Question about "Ring" and "Ring Virus"
Does anyone know anything about the two Asian movies "Ring" and "Ring Virus"?
In the new HKFlix promo through DVDTalk, they offer "Ring Virus" and "Say Yes." I've heard rave reviews about the "Ring" movie, but I'm a bit confused on one issue: I believe "Ring Virus" is a Korean remake of "Ring," which is a Japanese movie (which I believe, incidentally, is also a remake). I have heard good things about the "Ring" movies, but I didn't know if anyone knew which was superior, the Korean or Japanese version, or if both were pretty decent. (HKFLix has the Japanese version as well, but there are no English subtitles or audio track.) If anyone can confirm/contest this info, or knows which film is superior, please help. |
Based on my foggy memory......yes, the Korean Ring Virus is a remake of the Japanese Ring. From what I remember, most people who saw both versions definitely preferred the "original" Japan version. Maybe that helped....

Here's a review of "Ring Virus", although I remember hearing that there are some inaccuracies in this review:

toothboy, you might have more opinions on this in the International forum. I suggest you e-mail the moderator and have him move your post over there.
Oops, never mind. I just saw you asked over there too. :) |
